The Mongols
The Mongol
Empire sounds very interesting, people keep telling me about the Mongols and
their different types of foods, brown foods and white foods, the white food are
more dairy products, although the Mongols did not usually drink fresh milk,
they used it to make other dairy products such as yogurt and cheese. Brown
foods were meats, the Mongols would slaughter there meat by laying the animal
on its back and slicing down the middle of the body. This would keep all the
blood in the body that was later disposed of, after the intestines were pulled
out there were cleaned and used for make sausage. I have learned that the Mongols traveled and
stayed near field and plans because that’s were the animals would go for their
food supply, The Mongols were very smart considering that they didn’t have to
work for the animals for the animals found their own food supply and the
Mongols followed.
I have also heard that they invade many towns and
villages from time to time; they Mongols have a very strong empire and military.
This makes me worry about how they will think about me, will they kill me for
coming to them? Over all I expect many battles to happen when I am with them.
All the things
I have heard were not true, I am here know traveling with the Mongols; they
were actually really nice people. They have well trading skills which other
people should have. Because they are Nomads trading is a highly used skill in
their everyday life. They do not only trade materialistic items but they trade
their skills as well. In fact all merchants under the Mongols rule had a higher
status than the traditional Chinese merchant. The Mongols always liked trade.
Because they have a nomadic way of life caused them to realize how important trade
is, unlike the Chinese, they had a positive attitude toward merchants and
trade.
I believe that
the Mongols are a culture that hasn't been studied enough by today’s people.
The Mongols are such interesting people, from their ways
of conquering other empires to their styles and ways of trade. There are
multiple views on how to look at the Mongols; You could look at them like the
emperors were Alexander the great, People who conquered towns and villages just
to conquer them to show them that you are more powerful than their empire. Then
again you could look at them on a complete opposite hand, that they were people
of trade that were living off the land and that only wanted to help people.
Over all the 21st century should study the Mongols more than we are,
it would help to understand other cultures ways of trade and conquering.
